Whilst living in the small village of Punjalkatte, South India, a local village worker named Vimala gave us a demonstration of the traditional Vedic method of clearning earthen floors with cow dung.
The ingredients used :
fresh cow dung, water, and an areca nut plant leaf
After watching Vimala,
we tried it ourselves
The principle is that the dirt on the floor naturally adheres to the smeared cow dung. At the end, when you scrape up the contents with a leaf, the floor is left fresh and clean.
